Square Up Fabric [+ Quilts]

Why I Square Up Fabric (And Why You Should Too)

Adding reliable techniques to my sewing toolbox is truly priceless, and squaring up fabric was one of the first—and most valuable—skills I learned when I started quilting. Because of how fabric is manufactured, folded, and wound onto bolts, it often arrives with stretched or uneven edges. If you start cutting from a misaligned piece, it can throw off your entire project from the beginning.

Squaring up helps ensure your fabric edges are aligned and your cuts are accurate, setting you up for success from the start.
